Be sure to write your goals down on
a number of index cards and put them where you can see them. For example on
your computer monitor, your refrigerator, your calendar. Basically anywhere
you are going to see them, to motivate you to reach your goals.
Defining Your Goals
Probably one
of the most important things we do with our clients is to help them define
their goals. We discuss their need for both short and long term goals. This
might sound trite to you, or you might say, yeah, everyone says to define my
short term and long term goals.
Well, this is
said and emphasized for a very important reason. These short term and long
term goals help define how you will run your business, how much time you
will need to spend, and what you expect to accomplish. They are the
cornerstone of running your business.
Now for the
short term goals - the next 6 months to 2 years. Remember these goals will
vary as we all are different and have different needs. You might only need
to make an extra $100 a month while someone else, might need $200 a month
and someone else $300 to $400 a month. Your goals are also going be
influenced by how many hours you have decided to work at it.
Your goals are
important to you, dont let anyone tell you any different or let their
thoughts and words influence you. They arent paying your bills, you are, so
make up goals you feel you can manage and will help you.
